Watson

I found an application that seemed very interesting to me. It is called Watson and it is made by Intellext. It is like Google Sidebar but instead of typing the information into the toolbar it automatically searches the internet, your desktop, search engines and other places to find information relavant to what you are currently working on. It works with Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet Explorer and Firefox. I wanted to try out the free version and see how it performed but the requirements on what you need on your computer are not clear. I have Windows XP with Office Premium 2000 and it had issues when I tried to install it. If anyone has used this application, I would welcome your feedback on how it works and how you like it.

John,

Leigh from Intellext here. I'm sorry I didn't come across this post sooner! Just wanted to let you know we are working on the Windows XP/Office 2000 compatibility issue, and hope to have it fixed with the next release. If you'd like me to email you when this happens, let me know (lwinter at intellext dot com).

Cheers,

Leigh
