Paper or Digital

I was reading a posting on It looks obvious which talks about how Jeff Jarvis feels that print is where words go to die. I agree with Rogel that this is not correct. I think that you cannot come up with a statement like that without understanding that there are some things that do not change over the course of time and some things that should not be changed. I would guess that this person hasn't picked a good book to read in a long time. When I read this post I had flashbacks to high school and a book that I read for my English class, Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. I think that Jeff should read this book and it might change his opinion about the printed word and its significance for today. It was written over 50 years ago but has more relevance for today than it did then. And don't tell my 7 year old son that print is dead because he reads books every day and it is definitely alive to him. How can you read a bedtime story to a 2 year old in bed if there is no print?
